Junior Designer - Fashion

About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Junior Designer (fashion)  to support the design team and create fashion products to appeal to our target customer, increase sales and reduce level of returns.

 

This is a hybrid role, working at least 2 days in the office and the remainder at home.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design to the required brief and curate and develop commercial ranges in line with our target customer.
  • Work closely with the Buyer on product development
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure designs are accurately made in line with tech packs
  • Assist in selection of fabrications and trims 
  • Prepare sketches, line up’s, tech packs and presentations for ranges
  • Keep on top of emerging trends and catwalk analysis
  • Work with the design team to collate seasonal trends
  • Participate in fit sessions and follow up on product development processes
  • Confident to present to buying and merchandising teams
  • Conduct high street competitor research and shop reports.
  • Carry out admin talks for the design team
  • Assist Designers and Senior Designers with Cads and tech packs

About you

  • Proven experience of designing in a Retail environment. 
  • Proficient in Photoshop and or illustrator.
  • High level range planning skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to switch handwriting according to varying brand DNA.
  • Broad related product experience 
  • Commerciality and sound judgement
  • Fashion design degree or equivalent
  • Excellent organisational skills 
  • Ability to prioritise effectively whilst working at pace
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Flexible and positive attitude and approach to work
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as directed.
  • An enthusiastic, tenacious and proactive individual.
  • High attention to detail at all times.
  • Organised, structured in approach and willing to take ownership of results
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work through rapid change
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to commute to Bradford City centre
