Desktop Analyst - 6 months FTC

About the role

The job holder is responsible for the installation and first line support for all IT Desktop devices and associated software across all sites (including PCs, laptops, telephones, desktop printers, hand held terminals, scanners and MFP’s).

Role Responsibilities

  • To install, maintain and support Desktop hardware across all platforms, to pre-determined standards and procedures in order to meet business deadlines and service levels.
  • To install, maintain and support Desktop software to pre-determined standards and procedures in order to meet business deadlines and service levels.
  • Record Desktop hardware and software data to ensure that all installations and returns are tracked and documented. This includes hardware and software licences
  • Ensuring that Desktop Services stock & store rooms, have an accurate, maintained inventory and that the rooms are all kept safe and tidy  
  • Updating problem and change records accurately and in a timely manner, whilst ensuring effective communication with the user
  • Carrying out Desktop office moves and installations, ensuring minimal disruption to users
  • To manage incidents that are affecting service / may potentially affect service.  To ensure that priorities are adhered to and fixes applied in a timely manner and all incident management documentation is completed. 
  • To provide, where necessary, standby and callout support for operational systems
  • Phone system admin, including setting up new users, hunt groups and pick up groups.
  • Liaison with third party suppliers for installation and support of hardware and software
  • To be committed to the fair treatment of customers at all times
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable UK and local regulations, Company Policies and FCA Conduct Rules
  • Demonstrate behaviours in line with our Company values
  • To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by acts and omissions at work

 

About you

  • Understanding of Desktop systems operations, including related software
  • Windows based products (7,8 &10)
  • Office Suite
  • Mac iOS/OSX
  • Virtual desktop environment
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP and Networking protocols.
     
  • Understanding Unified Comms and  TCP/IP telephone systems.
  • Self motivated.
  • Communication skills, with the ability to deal with staff at all levels throughout the business and 3rd party suppliers
  • Technical awareness, linked with experience in a desktop / distributed processing environment are needed
  • Planning and organisational skills for installations, office moves and maintenance etc.
     
  • Excellent customer service skills.
